Keith’s Oaks Bar and Grill

The Oaks Bar and Grill, the casual, downhome Florida-inspired restaurant located on the corner of Lithia Pinecrest Road and Brandon Boulevard (SR 60), has been known for its excellent food, relaxed atmosphere, and friendly service since its inception. And new owner Keith Askew is dedicated to continuing The Oaks’ reputation as one of Brandon’s favorite family-friendly dining establishments after purchasing it just two months ago from longtime owners Josh and Terri Hartford.

Now known as Keith’s Oaks Bar and Grill, the restaurant is still serving its top-notch signature seafood selections—including the highly popular Grouper Sandwich featuring lettuce, tomato, onion, and fish straight from the Gulf of Mexico.

“The grouper sandwich is so big and so good,” said one recently satisfied customer. “I recommend getting the coleslaw on the side and dumping it on your sandwich…And if you are extra hungry, be sure to try the homemade crab cakes!”

Other seafood menu choices include the unique Fishspread (a mild, smoky dip served with crackers), BBQ Bacon Wrapped Shrimp; and Beer Battered Shrimp—among other must-try items like Alaskan Snow Crab and steamed Lobster Tails. And if you can’t pick just one favorite, be sure to order the Seafood Combo which offers a large sampling of homemade crab cakes, Atlantic Whitefish fingers, clam strips, and shrimp.

But Keith’s Oaks Bar and Grill doesn’t just serve up seafood. In fact, it is known for much more.

“We have a lil’ somethin’ for everyone,” said Keith.

That includes hand-cut rib eye steaks (Keith’s favorite), juicy half-pound specialty burgers, southern-style BBQ pulled pork sandwiches, tasty wings in a variety of flavors, fresh salads, and filling pasta dishes (try Stenger’s Cajun Chicken Pasta) just to name a few…and we can’t forget to mention their fall-off-the-bone St. Louis-style ribs—all you can eat on Tuesday nights!

“Our ribs are some of the best you can get,” said Keith. “Our food keeps people coming back for more because everything is fresh and made to order.”

Apart from All You Can Eat Ribs, other weekly specials include All You Can Eat Fish Fry on Sundays and 2 for $15 entrees on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.

“I came with my family to eat here and all I can say is wow,” said a Brandon area local. “The food was great and they give you large portions for a really great price.”

Although Keith has inherited an unbeatable menu and a beautiful location—featuring outdoor patio seating and a full liquor bar, he’s really looking to make his restaurant a true Brandon hotspot for entertainment. Customers are already enjoying the Saturday karaoke nights.

“I saw so much potential in this place and really want to bring it up one more step,” said Keith. “I want this place to be a late-night music emporium for people of all ages.”

The new owner is also planning to host dart and corn hole tournaments at Keith’s Oaks Bar and Grill in the future.

Keith, along with his business partners McKenzie Gerun and Rick and Donna Vickers—all lifelong Brandon residents—are excited to serve the local community at the restaurant. In fact, Keith owes much of his success to his dedicated team.

“We can’t wait to interact more with our regulars as well as see some new faces,” said Keith.
